Leslie Dempsey

Chicago NW Side - Leslie Dempsey

Leslie@InspiredWomen.com

I claim to be making the world better than I found it! As a Graduate of University of Pittsburgh I was involved as a Library Assistant at Georgia Tech Architecture Library as well as a Library Service Specialist at CLP. Then I took some time off to start and raise a family in Chicago while being an active participant in school activities as well as being an occasional substitute teacher.

In 2012 I went back to work as a Field Representative for Scholastic Book Fairs and during that time something amazing happened which played a pivotal role for my family! In 2018, I was awarded a sales incentive trip to Jamaica and brought two of my daughters along. As a family we had the opportunity to give back, live the mission and spread the love of reading at Ocho Rios Primary School which inspired a legacy of paying it forward and was an experience that we will never forget.

I currently live part time in Chicago with my husband, college age children and two dogs, and part time in PA as I help care for my aging parents. I am a passionate travel enthusiast and enjoy high-impact cultural experiences while giving back to communities in ethical and sustainable ways.

Integrating myself back into my hometown and socializing in PA led me to find Inspired Women events in and around Pittsburgh in 2025. The mission of IW has lit a fire in me, and I want to bring the light to Chicago! I am excited to co-create a beautiful chapter to help Inspired Women in Chicago shine!
